Electrical Field Service Engineers

Location: West Horndon, Essex, United Kingdom

Salary: 34,000 to 47,000 per annum

Permanent Position

The hiring company are currently seeking experienced, time-served Electricians for Workshop and Field Service Engineer roles based at their West Horndon location. This position involves working across a range of sites and installations throughout the UK, with a primary focus on the Southeast region.

Salary & Benefits:

* 34,000 to 47,000 per annum (inclusive of travel), depending on qualifications and experience.

* Company van fully kitted out + fuel card.

* 28 days annual holiday plus statutory and bank holidays.

* 40-hour week (Monday-Friday, during normal office hours).

* Out of hours call outs (1 in 5) will be a part of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

* Diagnose and repair electrical issues in commercial and industrial electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring.

* Perform routine maintenance and testing of electrical systems, ensuring installations meet manufacturer standards.

* Read and interpret electrical drawings (training will be provided for specific requirements).


* Rewire faulty electrical systems to a high standard, ensuring compliance with safety and building codes.

* Install electrical systems in line with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

* Provide excellent customer service and address customer queries.

* Offer professional assessments and advice to clients regarding electrical systems.

* Possess a working knowledge of IEE regulations, with qualifications such as City & Guilds 2360, 2382, and 2391 (Inspection & Testing).

* Take part in planned projects and outages as directed by colleagues.

* Manage your work schedule effectively and ensure high-quality workmanship.

Candidate Requirements:

* Must have completed a recognised Electrical Indentured Apprenticeship.

* Proven experience in fault finding, electrical repair, installation, and commissioning.

* A good level of physical fitness due to the physical demands of the role.

* Full UK driving licence (preferably clean).

* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Able to work independently and as part of a team.

* Flexibility to work away from home when required.

* Ability to pass security clearances.

* Willingness to participate in out-of-hours call-outs (1 in 5).

* Good customer service skills.

* Positive, flexible attitude and self-motivation.


Desirable Skills & Experience:

* Experience in high voltage systems (advantageous but not essential).

* CompEx 1-4 trained (advantageous).

* Background in the power generation sector, including prime movers and balance of plant (BOP).

* Experience in electrical maintenance activities such as trace heating installation, motor installation/testing, or electrical actuator testing.
