We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters and Field Service Engineers to join a well established company, covering a variety of sites and installations across Essex and surrounding regions. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in heavy engineering sectors, possessing strong knowledge and hands-on skills with rotating equipment.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Conduct mechanical repairs and maintenance on rotating equipment such as turbines, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and valves.
  • Utilise measuring equipment like micrometres, DTIs, and alignment tools proficiently.
  • Complete workshop and field service activities, including reporting on findings, condition assessments, and recommendations.
  • Communicate technical information effectively both verbally and in writing to peers and customers.
  • Diagnose and fault-find on mechanical equipment related to heavy engineering sectors.
  • Perform defect repairs and routine maintenance to meet manufacturer standards and legislative requirements.
  • Work independently to identify and resolve mechanical system faults.
  • Assist and lead on planned projects and outages as required.
  • Manage work schedule effectively to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Full driving licence, preferably clean.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Time-served mechanical qualifications to ONC & HNC, NVQ, or equivalent.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Experience in fault finding, repair, installation, and commissioning.
  • Good customer service skills and a high level of fitness.
  • Ability to pass security clearances.
  • Flexible and positive attitude, with availability for call-outs and working away from home when necessary.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience within heavy engineering sectors.
