SEN Teaching Assistant - Wickford, Essex

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real impact? We are currently seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic special school in Wickford, Essex, supporting students with moderate learning difficulties, Autism, ADHD, and other additional needs.

This school provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils from Year 1 to Year 14, helping them develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills. Many students have struggled in mainstream education, so this role requires a patient, adaptable, and compassionate individual who can offer the right level of support.

SEN Teaching Assisitant | Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEN needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons to suit individual learning styles
  • Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour in a positive and encouraging way
  • Help develop communication and social skills through structured activities
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with SEN students, ideally in a school or specialist setting
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs
  • Experience with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or other learning difficulties is highly desirable
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualifications) are an advantage but not essential
