Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Widnes-based Primary and Nursery school as they require an experienced and reliable teaching assistant to support the EYFS/Reception class. This school is easily accessible via public transport and has had SEN pupil intake, with 1:1 support already in place.Your new roleIn your new role as a teaching assistant in this school, you will be supporting the reception class. You will work closely with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to offer a safe, engaging and stimulating learning environment for all pupils by building strong constructive relationships with staff and pupils alike. You will support all pupils in the class, offering 1:1 and small group sessions in key area's including phonics, social and emotional development, learn through play and more. You will also support SEN within the wider classroom as required, alongside the allocated 1:1 teaching assistant. This may require some form of intimate care, i.e., nappy changing.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting children and young people in the last two years, as well as:

  • Experience working within EYFS (early years foundation stage)
  • An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Early Years / Supporting Teaching and Learning is advantageous but not essential
  • Experience working with SEN is advantageous but not essential
