Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a single-form entry primary school in Widnes as they are looking to recruit a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support the KS1 (Key Stage 1) classes. This is a long-term full-time temporary contract.Your new roleIn your new role as a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting in the Year 1 and Year 2 classes. You will work alongside the class teacher to ensure that all learning takes place in a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment by promoting positive behaviour within the class and building strong constructive relationships with pupils. You will assist with general classroom management by utilising all learning material available and offer intervention and boosters to pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis. As well as supporting within the wider classroom, you will support mixed groups of lower ability pupils by holding intense interventions within a separate classroom.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with children and young people in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Experience delivering interventions and booster sessions
  • Experience working with KS1 or KS2
  • An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning is advantageous but not essential
