We are seeking a motivated Day Operator to join our team in Widnes, Cheshire. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities

Performance and Compliance Monitoring

  • Support the shift operations team in the loading and unloading of road tankers.
  • Assist the Chargehand and Site Supervisor with daily operations.
  • Provide operational support on the Wharf, especially during boat loading or unloading activities.

Risk Assessment & Permit to Work

  • Work within the Permit to Work system to ensure contractor compliance with safety protocols.
  • Ensure all activities are completed in line with risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Act as a Permit Issuer for site operations.
  • Fulfill the role of Site Lifting Supervisor as required.

Inspection and Maintenance Management

  • Operate, inspect, and maintain site vehicles such as the Volvo, JCB digger, MEWP, and vacuum tanker.
  • Manage the use, inspection, and maintenance of hired equipment, such as portable pumps used for de-watering coal tar tanks.

Miscellaneous

  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the site.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by senior management to meet business needs, with appropriate training provided.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience as an operator
  • Loading and Unlaoding experience 
  • Experence with fleet, Mobile elavators, diggers, trucks, etc
  • Experience in operating and maintaining machinery and equipment is desirable.
  • Ability to work safely within risk assessment and permit systems.
  • A team player who is willing to assist across various site operations.
