Acorn by SYNERGIE is looking for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client, an FMCG manufacturer based in Widnes ,Cheshire.

We're seeking a time-served, ideally degree or diploma educated in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar, experienced within an FMCG hygienic production environment.

The purpose of the role is to develop, implement, and continually improve efficiency, effectiveness, and value to achieve zero defects internally and externally. The role also involves optimizing production systems and procedures to maintain quality, reduce waste, and eliminate unplanned downtime.

Duties will include:

* Troubleshoot and diagnose faults within PLC systems and electrical components to ensure minimal downtime.

* Maintain and repair air pistons, solenoid valves, and other pneumatic control systems.

* Work with bearings, gearboxes, and other mechanical components for optimal machine performance.

* Conduct welding and fabrication work as needed for machine modifications and repairs.

* Install and configure new machinery, ensuring proper functionality and integration into the production process.

* Planned and Preventative Maintenance: Complete job maintenance sheets and execute periodic maintenance schedules to prevent unplanned breakdowns.

* Maintain and troubleshoot Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) machines to ensure continuous production.

* Organize and develop a structured system for spare parts management.

* Create, implement, and maintain SOPs to standardize processes.

* Quality Improvement: Collaborate with the Factory Quality Manager to enhance production processes and minimize defects.

* Optimize equipment layout and space utilization to improve productivity and efficiency.

The successful candidate will have 17th/18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations Knowledge of PLC Programming & Troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.). Hydraulics & Pneumatics Training and Food Safety & Hygiene Certification (HACCP, GMP) (Knowledge of BRC or Salsa food standards).

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 6am - 3pm

Salary is dependent on the knowledge and experience to offer.
