We are currently seeking a meticulous and skilled Precision Assembler to join a growing global organisation to have a representative based on one of their clients sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, assembly, and testing of various equipment and tools, ensuring high-quality delivery to our customers. This role is based at our client’s site in Widnes and is part of a long-term maintenance contract.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Complete assemblies in accordance with drawings, instructions, and work orders, performing testing as required.
  • Utilize advanced inspection equipment to ensure all parts and assemblies meet specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness of parts and components prior to assembly and ensure proper completion of assemblies following procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and wear required personal safety equipment.
  • Operate precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and CMMs, as well as hand tools like hydraulic torque wrenches and fire torches.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) activities and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a customer-service mindset focused on on-time delivery and quality workmanship.
  • Foster team building and continuous improvement through exemplary behavior.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Workshop experience and knowledge of automation control and electrical components.
  • Experience as a mechanic for rotating machines, mechanical devices, or general mechanics.
  • General certificate of education or vocational training.
  • HS Diploma / GED and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Keen attention to detail and a results-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical functions and unit conversions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends on short notice.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
