Our client is currently looking for a mechanically bias maintenance engineer for 3-6months contract.
The role will primarily be reactive/fault finding and planned maintenance work
Key Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance:Plan and execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifecycle of machinery.
Reactive Maintenance:Diagnose and repair equipment failures promptly to minimize production disruptions.
Troubleshooting:Utilise technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in machinery and systems.
Documentation:Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status, using the Maintenance Management Software (MMS).
Safety Compliance:Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to BASF safety standards and regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
Continuous Improvement:Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, performance, and efficiency.
Collaboration:Work closely with production teams to understand equipment performance and support operational needs.
Inventory Management:Monitor and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring that necessary components are available for maintenance activities.Qualifications
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (additional Electrical Engineering skills would be an advantage) Relevant certifications (e.g., City Guilds, NVQ, apprenticeship/time served) are advantageous.
Proficiency in mechanical fault finding reactive maintenance essential
Chemical sector or ATEX/COMAH site experience would be advantageous but not essentialSkills and Attributes:
