gap technical are proud to be representing an Industry Leading manufacturing business in their search for an Mechanical Project Manager to work at their facility based in Widnes

Role Summary

  • The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing mechanical project development, including asset assessment, tendering, and extending the lifecycle of critical infrastructure. The role requires a strong understanding of CDM regulations and a proven track record in project management.

Performance Objectives

Project Development:

  • Lead the planning and execution of mechanical and electrical projects from concept through completion.
  • Assess existing assets and develop strategies to extend their operational life.
  • Prepare project proposals, budgets, and timelines.

Tendering and Procurement:

  • Manage the tendering process, including drafting specifications, evaluating bids, and selecting contractors.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

CDM Compliance:

  • Ensure all projects comply with CDM regulations, including risk assessments and health and safety planning.
  • Act as the principal point of contact for CDM coordinators, ensuring all legal requirements are met.

Team Coordination:

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and contractors.
  • Oversee project milestones and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Engage with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide regular project updates and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Technical Oversight:

  • Provide technical guidance on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports and financial records.
  • Prepare and present reports for senior management and stakeholders.

Person Specification

  • Apprenticeship/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience Project Management.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
