gap technical are proud to be representing an Industry Leading manufacturing business in their search for an Mechanical Project Manager to work at their facility based in Widnes
Role Summary
- The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing mechanical project development, including asset assessment, tendering, and extending the lifecycle of critical infrastructure. The role requires a strong understanding of CDM regulations and a proven track record in project management.
Performance Objectives
Project Development:
- Lead the planning and execution of mechanical and electrical projects from concept through completion.
- Assess existing assets and develop strategies to extend their operational life.
- Prepare project proposals, budgets, and timelines.
Tendering and Procurement:
- Manage the tendering process, including drafting specifications, evaluating bids, and selecting contractors.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
CDM Compliance:
- Ensure all projects comply with CDM regulations, including risk assessments and health and safety planning.
- Act as the principal point of contact for CDM coordinators, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
Team Coordination:
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and contractors.
- Oversee project milestones and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide regular project updates and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical guidance on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ensure the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports and financial records.
- Prepare and present reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Person Specification
- Apprenticeship/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience Project Management.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
