Job title: Day Operator

Job purpose:
The Day Operator will work with the Chargehand and the Site supervisor to assist in running the plant safely and also is responsible for the safe operation of the site vehicles. He will work with the Charge hand to ensure these are well maintained and in good condition.
Key Accountabilities:
Performance and Compliance Monitoring
- Assist shift operations team with the loading and off-loading of road tanker as instructed
- Provide support and assistance to the Chargehand and the Site supervisor
- Work on the Wharf as needed, particularly when boats are to be loaded or unloaded
Risk Assessment & Permit to Work
- Work within the permit to work system and assist in ensuring that all contractors are following the permit to work system
- Ensure activity is completed in line with all risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Complete all duties as Permit Issuer on site within the Permit to Work system.
- Site lifting supervisor
Inspection and Maintenance Management
- Use, inspection and maintenance of the sites vehicles including the Volvo, the JCB digger, the MEWP and the vacuum tanker.
- Use, inspection and maintenance of any of the hired equipment on site, for instance portable pumps that are used for de-watering the coal tar tanks
Miscellaneous
- Assist in the good housekeeping on site
- Any other reasonable duty as identified by the ICL senior management team to satisfy business needs, within the role holders capability & with sufficient training.
Emergency Response
- If needed act as Site Incident or Main Controller
- Follow all instructions given to them from the site incident controller or the site main controller
- Assist with the communication on site as requested by the site incident controller or the site main controller

- Positively represent Industrial Chemicals to our customers and suppliers
