I am currently working with a hugely successful supplier to the retail industry based near Wigan. They are currently seeking an experienced National Account Manager to join their team.

Job purpose:

  • Ultimate responsibility for all aspects of the successful management of designated retailer account/s
  • Budget and P&L responsibility for managed account/s
  • To develop very strong relationships with retailer contacts, employing highly effective and efficient communication
  • To identify and maximise all viable sales opportunities
  • To effectively plan and manage retailers’ range and promotional calendars
  • To provide detailed sales vs. budget reports and analysis

Your role will include:

  • Detailed understanding of the markets, categories, and products.
  • Complete understating of designated retailers requirements including processes & timelines
  • To provide detailed analysis of the market and retailer sales, highlighting key sales opportunities
  • Ability to make informed business recommendations (internally/ externally) based on the above
  • Effective management of retailer proposals adhering to internal/ external deadlines
  • To host regular structured retailer review meetings
  • To continually strive to develop internal processes to improve administration and operational efficiencies
  • To ensure that customer range documents/price files are accurately maintained
  • To liaise with the Product team to ensure the co-ordination and timely receipt of product information for customer range reviews and promotional proposals
  • Ensure the knowledge, expertise and skills of the teams are continuously monitored, providing coaching and training if deficiencies exist.
  • Support on the recruitment of staff to the Sales team as required, working in-line with existing recruitment and selection policies.
  • Provide supervision and mentoring to your team to develop skills within the department as required.

Experience Required:

  • Experience at NAM level - working with retailer accounts.
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively
  • Ability to lead meetings
  • Customer focused and understands importance of service delivery excellence.
  • Highly self-motivated, with a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the business.
  • Analytical ability, working to the highest level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent team player with a positive attitude.
