CK Group are recruiting for an Advanced Technologist, to join a global materials manufacturing company, based near Wigan, on a full time, permanent basis.


The Company:

Our client is a global leader in manufacturing glass for architectural, automotive and technical sectors. They strive to be the best innovator of high-performance glass and glazing solutions. They now have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Technologist to join them and are offering a competitive salary from 32,000 - 38,000 depending on experience.


Location:

The Advanced Technologist position will be based at the company's site near Wigan, easily commutable by road from Merseyside including Liverpool, Ormskirk, Skelmersdale and Manchester. Please note a full UK driving licence and car ownership is required due to the company's location.


Advanced Materials Technologist Role:

Your main duties will be:
  • Development and testing of new glass products, glazing solutions and development of novel glass printing techniques.
  • Laboratory investigation to develop research projects and contribution to planning manufacturing trials.
  • Integrating into existing product development projects and contributing to the planning and execution of objectives to successfully bring products to market.
  • Trial planning, sample manufacture and functional analysis of product performance.

Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
  • Undergraduate degree in physics, chemistry, materials science or similar.
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing industry, involvement in product realisation or an understanding of product failure mechanisms would be highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of glass products or processing is a benefit, but full training will be provided.
