HEAD CHEF

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to assist the Executive Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at The Wrightington Hotel, Health Club & Spa.

The Head Chef will be responsible for

  • Food preparation
  • Staff management
  • Ensuring high quality dishes are consistently delivered.

The ideal candidate should have

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Creativity in menu development and a deep understanding of food safety regulations.
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • Manage a diverse kitchen team and handle high volume service efficiency in our busy kitchens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation and Cooking - Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation and consistency in the restaurant and wedding/banqueting department
  • Kitchen Management - Oversee Kitchen Operations including food sourcing, inventory control and equipment maintenance. Maintain HACCP guidelines, ensuring all paperwork is up to date and conduct regular hygiene inspections
  • Team Leadership Assist in recruitment, training and managing the kitchen staff ensuring teamwork, efficiency and adherence to safety protocols
  • Cost Control Manage food costs, minimize waste and ensure profitability by controlling portion sizes and efficient use of ingredients
  • Supplier co ordination - Assist the Executive Head Chef working with suppliers to source fresh, high qualityingredients whilst maintaining cost effectiveness
  • You must have at least 2 years experience as a Head Chef or Executive Sous Chef in a similar environment to apply and hold a current driving licence due to location.
  • Reporting to Executive Head Chef and Hotel General Manager

Salary

  • Starting from £38,000 per annum plus monthly restaurant service charge bonus.
Holiday
  • You will be entitled to 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays

Working hours;

  • You will be required to a 42.5 hour per week contract, working 5 days over 7 on a rota basis to the needs of the business.
