This successful and growing company are looking for a Graduate Analytical Scientist with a strong practical chemistry background and the desire and attitude to forge a career in the analytical chemistry service / support industry. Working within a close knit team, flexibility and quick learning will be key to your success as you are pulled in different directions by myriad business needs; serving customer's analytical instrument maintenance contracts, technical support, delivery, installation and training on analytical equipment, in house laboratory analysis work, quality management systems and more.

As the business continues to grow you will be encouraged to develop a range of skills that will lay the foundations for an ongoing career that could be Technical Sales and business development, Field Service Engineering, remote technical support, product management, lab/quality management or define your own role in line with business needs.

Any experience, knowledge or ability in the following would be an advantage:

  • Practical chromatography and mass spectroscopy (GC, LC, IC etc, esp GCMS, LCMS)
  • Inorganic or organic elemental analysis techniques, combustion, (ICP, AA, XRF
  • Professional customer facing communication skills
  • Problem-solving / trouble-shooting
  • Independence, self-starter, confidence to make decisions and unearth business opportunities
  • Flexibility and a desire to learn in a fast paced environment

The role is based in the Greater Manchester area and commands a salary in the range of £25-35k dependant on experience. Access to your own car will be essential. Performance related bonuses can be a significant addition to your package.
