Halcyon Care North West are pleased to be working with an independent care home provider for children and young persons between the ages of 7 - 17. They are looking for a Registered manager or experienced deputy manager to provide a safe haven for children exposed to different vulnerabilities. Their experienced, qualified, caring and compassionate team are there to support and care for each young person. They believe working hand in hand with the children in their care and lending a listening ear is what will contribute to a positive and ‘willing’ attitude from each young person. With a strong believe that approved partnerships are vital to planning, goal setting and supporting each young person to celebrate their achievements and milestones.

Job Description:

As a Registered Children's Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and well-being for the children and young people in our care. You will work closely with the local authority, partner agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young people.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of staff to deliver high-quality care and support to children and young people
  • Develop and implement individual care plans, ensuring the needs of each child are met
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Ofsted guidelines
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, incident reports, and medication records
  • Manage budgets, including staff costs, supplies, and services
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
  • Identify training needs and develop staff to improve performance
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure best practice

Requirements:

  • Experience with Ofsted or equivalent
  • Proven
  • Background in working with children with complex needs and a high spectrum of autism
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience of managing a team
  • Ability to work effectively with children, young people, parents, carers, and external agencies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stress
  • Knowledge of childcare legislation, policies, and procedures
  • NVQ Level 5 in Childcare or equivalent qualification
