Accounts & Administration Assistant, Sage, Wigan, Office Based

 

Accounts & Administration Assistant required to work for a fast growing company based in Wigan, Greater Manchester. Our client works with both private clients and the public sector to locate missing Next of Kin and beneficiaries to an estate. They have enjoyed significant growth and are now one of the country’s largest genealogists/heir hunter firms. 

They are looking to recruit an experienced accounts assistant on a full-time basis to join their growing company to assist with the day to days tasks within the finance department. 

 

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Raising sales invoices, submitting to customers and inputting to Sage. 
  • Updating WIP spreadsheets and case management spreadsheet for invoices raised.
  • Preparation of the banking information with incoming cheques and updating the invoice log with payments.
  • Assist with chasing overdue sales invoices and inputting both payments and receipts onto SAGE.
  • Reviewing internal case management system on a regular basis, updating the system for any incomplete cases or adjustments.
  • Regular archiving of completed files, maintaining the archive log and updating the case management system. Retrieving files when requested.
  • Assist with the management of credit card expenditure, collating all the receipts for each credit card holder and recording payments onto SAGE.
  • Reviewing Estate Accounts for accuracy and compliance with beneficiaries’ agreements. 
  • To undertake any other duties as and when required including any ad hoc jobs for the MD / Head of Department.
  • Always observe and comply with our company policies & policies.

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience of 2 year’s (minimum) as an accounts assistant or of a similar role.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office – mainly Outlook & Excel.
  • Knowledge of SAGE 50 accounting system
  • Accountancy qualification (AAT L2 minimum) - Desirable. 
  • High level of organisational skills and be able to manage own workload.
  • Good telephone manner and ability to get on well with others.
