Your new companyWe have recently been approached by a couple of primary schools in the Wigan area that are looking to secure a teaching assistant to work within KS1 and have particular experience in phonics. This role would be full-time, working 5 days a week across school hours. There is no end date for these roles at present as they are long-term, they have the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.Your new roleIn this role, you will be responsible for helping in both group and 1:1 setting to pupils in KS1 with their Phonics. You should have experience working with phonics schemes including Read, Write Inc, Monster Phonics and others. You should be confident in rolling this out with pupils and monitoring their progress. It is important for you to work closely with the other teachers and TA's to ensure pupils are progressing, and that work is in line with pupil ability. You will become an integral part of the school, joining a team of TA'S who are very experienced and that you will be able to learn from. What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful in securing this position, you must have recent experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting, and be trained in Read, Write Inc. As the schools are recruiting immediately, it would be ideal if you could jump straight into the role.
