Your new companyHays Education have been approached by primary schools located in Wigan who are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with SEN children. These roles are due to start in February on a long-term basis and have the potential to carry on until the end of the academic year. These schools have a very supportive staff network. Experience working with SEN children is not essential as schools are open to someone with the right approach and interest in the role.Your new roleIn your new role, you will be responsible for providing 1:1 support to an SEN child, and it could be across any year group. Duties will include working closely with the class teacher around the planning and development of the pupil, working with the pupil around behaviour and liaising with parents and SLT regarding the pupil. You will need to ensure the child is fully supported and progressing with their learning, and it will include small groups and 1:1 work, occasionally taking the child out of class to provide that extra support. If you feel you can commit to this role 5 days a week until the end of the academic year, please get in touch.What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess recent experience working with children and previous experience supporting SEN children is not essential. Even if you have limited experience, we want to hear from you. You should feel confident working with children in a 1:1 setting as well as be friendly and enthusiastic. You will need to be available to start as soon as possible and continue through until summer.
