Experienced apprentice trained Industrial Electrician to carry out electrical installations and maintenance work which form part of our projects.

Elec-Tek (Wigan) is an electrical contractor specialising in projects and maintenance within the food and drink manufacturing industry all over the UK. Our customers include some of the UKs best known brands including Pladis, Nice-Pak International, Heinz, Pataks and Westmill Foods. We provide electrical installations from design to installation and planned maintenance. We are reactive to breakdowns which may result in some unsociable hours.

Requirement of this role include

  • Installation of containment (ladder, tray, basket, trunking and conduit)
  • Installation and termination cabling
  • Installation of control panels
  • Test and inspection
  • Work to given specifications, programmes and drawings
  • Installation of electrical and mechanical services
  • Efficiently and effectively delivering reactive and planned projects and maintenance
  • Fault finding, tracing and repairing faults
  • Improve performance of equipment
  • To follow customers policies and procedures and all Health and Safety rules

Requirement of the applicant

  • Preferred inspection and testing qualification (2391, 2394, 2395)
  • Thorough understanding of common mechanical and electrical systems eg. Control panels, circuits
  • IPAF card holder not essential
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance
  • Experience in PLC would be an advantage
  • Full clean driving licence is essential
  • 18th Edition qualified
  • Willingness to travel and occasional staying away may be required for short periods of time
  • Comfortable working within a team and able to work under their own initiative
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Deliver relevant paperwork and bring the project in on budget in a timely manner
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to learn

Job Type

  • Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, weekend working overtime when available
  • Position is available with immediate effect. This will be a permanent position for the right candidate after completing a successful probationary period

Salary

  • £32,000 to £46,000 pa (to reflect applicants proven qualifications, skill set and experience)
