Job Title: Electrical Bias Maintenance Technician

Are you an experienced Maintenance Technician with a strong electrical background? We're seeking a dedicated Electrical Bias Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing client based in Leigh and ensure the smooth operation of their manufacturing equipment. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for both electrical and basic mechanical maintenance, looking to advance their skills and contribute to continuous improvement within a facility.

Location: Leigh, WN7

Hours:

Mon-Thu 07:30-16:00

Fri: 7:30-14:00

Salary: £32,800 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and repair of plant and equipment across the site.
  • Teamwork and Initiative: Collaborate effectively with your team while also working independently to identify and resolve issues.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks to ensure operational continuity.
  • Breakdowns: Provide support during breakdown situations to minimize downtime.
  • CMMS Utilization: Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), specifically SAP, to manage maintenance tasks.
  • Work Orders: Complete and submit work orders promptly to supervisors.
  • Safety: Prioritize the safety of yourself and your colleagues.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Efficiency: Execute tasks quickly and efficiently, managing priorities effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in and promote continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: City & Guilds III standard from a time-served Electrical Apprenticeship. AP15 High Voltage qualification is desirable but not essential immediately; willingness to undertake training in the future is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a maintenance environment is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Basic mechanical duties and ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematic diagrams.
    • Working knowledge of PLCs, especially Allen Bradley and Siemens.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and SAP.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Effective and constructive communication skills with peers and management.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Flexibility to work outside normal hours and cover for holidays and absences.
