We are looking for an experienced Solar PV Manager with Electrical Qualifying Supervisor (QS) certification and experience to lead the design, installation, and maintenance of solar energy systems, while also supporting solar projects.
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in electrical experience, project management, and renewable energy. As a Solar Manager with QS credentials, you will ensure all electrical work adheres to relevant regulations and standards, while guiding a team of technicians and engineers to deliver solar projects on time and within budget.
Our Head Office is in the Northwest (Wigan), the nature of projects may necessitate nationwide travel.
An ideal candidate for the Solar PV Manager & Electrical Qualified Supervisor (QS) role should possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:
Project Management
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of solar energy projects from inception to completion.
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of solar PV systems, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.
Electrical Compliance
- Serve as the Electrical Qualifying Supervisor (QS), ensuring all electrical work complies with national and local regulations (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations).
- Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.
- Battery storage experience with a view to obtain a battery storage qualification.
- Approve electrical designs and create toolbox talks you deem necessary.
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a team of solar technicians and electricians.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members during the installation and maintenance of solar systems.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge in solar and electrical systems.
Client Relations
- Prepare and present project proposals, progress reports, and post-installation evaluations to clients.
- Address and resolve client concerns and issues promptly.
Quality Assurance
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and system performance.
Health & Safety
- Develop and enforce safety protocols on all project sites.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure that all work is carried out safely and in accordance with HSE regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience or familiarity with the QS role
- Essential 18th Edition certification
- Essential 2391 certification
- Essential Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with bespoke platforms
- Essential possession of a Gold Card
