Junior Demand Planner

(Commercial Executive)

Wigan - Hybrid Working

Would suit a Graduate with placement year, a Merchandising Administrator or a Supply Chain / Planning Administrator looking for the next step.

Our client is a product sourcing company and supplier to retail who due to continued growth now have an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Executive to join their team in Wigan.

Your role will be to:

  • Manage product level forecasts through use of historical sales and stock level targets.
  • Work with customers (where appropriate) to manage the forecast in-line with customer planned activity.
  • Work with sales/supply colleagues to manage the consolidated forecasts on stock held lines in order to maximise availability within the parameters of stock targets.
  • Utilise customer databases to analyse customer stock levels (both depot and store) and work with key customer contacts to ensure optimum levels are maintained where possible.
  • Updating the weekly order planners post ERP.
  • Produce weekly & monthly reports to summarise by category % forecast vs sales and what this means in terms of our stock position.
  • Model volume and operation efficiencies.
  • Reporting and analysis of stock profile, optimum stock levels/stock turn.
  • New line reporting.
  • Aged stock analysis and suggested actions.

The successful candidate will:

  • Educated to degree level or past experience in an analytical role.
  • Previous experience in a similar role desirable.
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines (and ensure others do so).
  • Demonstrate excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Good team player with a positive attitude to driving team goals.
  • You should possess the following personal attributes.
  • Committed to continuous improvement of internal processes.
  • Commercially minded and be able to build rapport and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Completer finisher approach to work. Commitment to see tasks through to a successful conclusion within a set timeframe.
