My client is a leading Resin and Polymers manufacturer based in Wigan that supply products to a range of industries globally. They are looking to hire an R&D Technician to join their established team in Standish, Wigan. The ideal candidate will have a background in Laboratory Research and Development, will be familiar with ISO Quality management systems, will be proficient in Chemical process and will be based within a commutable distance of Standish, Wigan.

R&D Technician Position Overview

Undertaking experimental work in accordance with the R&D manual
Recording all process information to allow review and generation of process instructions
Preparing laboratory samples and testing and evaluation of Raw materials & Competitor products
Calibration of lab equipment
Supporting QA issues in relation to reworks, complaints, incidents and rejects
Providing support for production and QC departments
Preparing samples for dispatch

R&D Technician Position Requirements

Able to follow Chemistry testing techniques
BTEC / HNC in Chemistry or equivalent level 4 qualification in Chemistry
Experience working in a busy laboratory environment
Good I.T skills across both Microsoft office and ERP Systems
Strong understanding of Chemical processes
Experience working in a Chemical process / COMAH environment desirable
A familiarity with ISO9001, 14001 & 45001 desirable
Either IOSH, First Aid, or Internal Auditor trained also desirable
Based within commutable distance of Wigan

R&D Technician Position Remuneration

£12.60 per hour
Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (42.5 hours a week)
33 Days holiday inclusive of public holidays
