gap technical are proud to be representing this Food manufacturing business in their search for a Health and Safety to work at their facility based near - Wigan.
Performance Objectives
- Policy Development: Create, review, and update health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards. Develop mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
- Training & Education: Develop and deliver training for employees on health and safety practices, emergency procedures, and proper use of equipment.
- Incident Management: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Document findings, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the facility complies relevant health and safety regulations. Maintain records and reports as required by law.
- Safety Culture: Promote a culture of safety across the organization. Engage employees at all levels to participate in safety initiatives and programs.
- Health & Safety Committee: Lead the Health & Safety Committee, facilitating regular meetings and follow-up on action items.
- SSOW - Implement / Review SSOW as required
Person Specification
- NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) are preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and other relevant health and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and health & safety management software.
- Ability to conduct training and presentations effectively.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
