Our client is a growing Chemical Manufacturer with strong expansion plans and some exciting new products being developed for a range of sectors.

We have a Permanent opportunity to join the business as a HSE Manager.

What your weekly duties will look like:

  • Management Systems: Implement, communicate, and manage ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 systems to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
  • Incident Management: Lead accident and incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Legislation Compliance: Keep up to date with legislation and industry best practices, ensuring site compliance through regular checks and updates.
  • Training & Development: Organize and manage HSE training programs for site personnel, covering areas such as confined space entry, hazard communication, emergency response, and more.
  • Safety Protocols: Oversee site safety protocols, including signage, access procedures, and staff induction to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Site Safety Committee: Coordinate and lead site safety committee activities, driving continuous improvement and ensuring effective safety practices.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Liaise with emergency services, conduct drills, and manage emergency response plans to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Environmental Strategy: Develop and manage the environmental strategy, including permit management, risk assessments, and product life cycle assessments.
  • Reporting: Report on department performance, risks, and opportunities to senior management, ensuring clear communication and effective decision-making.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven HSE experience within a Chemical Manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
  • NEBOSH & IOSH certified
  • Experience in COSHH & Risk assessments

Location - Wigan
Salary - £45k - £50k (dependent on experience)
Permanent - Full Time - 8am -4pm (Mon-Fri)
Benefits - 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays + BUPA healthcare + Pension (5% EE / 3% ER), on-site gym.
