We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our client in Wigan as a Functional Skills Lecturer on a Permanent basis. This role is based in an Ofsted rated GOOD college that is known for its positive and bustling atmosphere. Are you passionate about educating apprentices, school leavers, and mature students? Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality, Interactive Functional Skills English and Maths lessons both in class and 1-1.
- Develop and implement the subject improvement plan arising from self-assessment.
- Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support.
- Foster an inclusive, positive learning environment that encourages student participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and update curriculum content, ensuring it meets current educational standards.
- Stay updated with innovative teaching methodologies in both English and Maths.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progression.
- Integrate Industry experience into teaching to offer practical insights.
- Promote College values and adhere to safeguarding policies.
- Engage in continuous professional development opportunities.
Requirements (Skills / Qualifications / Experience):
- Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in English / Maths /related fields.
- Certificate in Education/ PGCE or commitment to achieve within 2 years of appointment.
- Valuable experience in teaching or relevant industry expertise.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for education.
- Commitment to promoting student welfare and fostering inclusivity.
