Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Wigan single-form entry primary school that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to recruit an experienced and reliable teaching assistant for a full-time temporary long-term contract with an immediate start available. This is a school we work with on a regular basis and receive excellent feedback from staff placed there about the support they receive within the school.

Your new role
For this job role you will be required to work within the Y5 and Y6 classes - the length of time in each class will differ every week depending on the needs of the school. You will offer general support for the KS2 classes. You may be required to support pupils on a 1:1 and group basis with intervention and boosters, and work alongside class teachers to promote a stimulating and engaging learning environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience within a classroom environment within the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Experience supporting disruptive/challenging behaviour
  • Experience delivering intervention and booster sessions on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential.
