Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Home to School Passenger Assistant. In this role, you will ensure the safety, well-being, and comfort of children and young people during their daily transit to and from school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe Transit: Ensure children and young people travel safely and comfortably in a contracted taxi, minibus, or coach.
  • One-to-One Assistance: Work on a one-to-one basis with a child/young person, or support multiple children/young people in a group setting.
  • Daily Route: Be collected from home by a contracted taxi, then pick up children on your route.
  • Morning and Afternoon Split Shift: Escort children to school in the morning and collect them from school in the afternoon.
  • Term-Time Only: Staff are not required during school holidays.
  • Flexibility: Maintain a positive attitude to short notice route alterations which support wider service outputs.
  • Communication: Understand the LTRS management chain and ensure communication is timely, precise and effective with all stakeholders.
  • Physical Capability: Physically able to carry out tasks associated with the role, such as frequent bending, stretching, and lifting.
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures for vulnerable children.
  • Security: Recognise the importance of ensuring a secure and safe environment for all users of the service.
  • Relationships: Establish constructive relationships with service users, carers, families, schools, and contractors.
