Our client, a leading supplier and distributor of high-quality tools, is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee their Wigan distribution warehouse.

What You'll Do:

As the Warehouse Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our warehouse operates at peak efficiency. Your main objectives will include:

  • Supervising and Organising: Lead and train a dedicated warehouse team, setting operational goals to maximise productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Optimising Operations: Continuously develop warehouse processes by evaluating product handling, storage requirements, and shipping methods to enhance efficiency.
  • Inventory Management: Achieve and maintain inventory accuracy, coordinate order fulfilment, and track shipping times for thousands of product orders annually.
  • Safety and Compliance: Foster a safe and healthy work environment by establishing standards and ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, logistics, and customer service.
  • Schedule and manage the warehouse team, balancing workflow to maximise efficiency and minimise overtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and oversee general maintenance.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and company managers to analyse productivity and establish actionable plans.
  • Manage logistics for transporting products, ensuring timely delivery to customers and facilities.

What We're Looking For:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar managerial role in warehouse operations.
  • A strong understanding of warehouse management procedures and best practises.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for delivering feedback and collaborating with team members.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in warehouse environments.
  • A forklift licence is preferred but not mandatory.
