Alecto Recruitment is currently working with a well-established environmental services company with a busy 24/7 processing facility in Wigan. They are currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer with relevant experience to work both day and night shifts.
Package Details
- Salary as above
- 4 on days - 4 off - 4 on nights - 4 off rotating.
- Half the year off based on shift rotation + 20 days leave + bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently carry out preventative and reactive maintenance
- Examination of and fault finding on plant
- Equipment and servicing activities on waste plastic sorting site
- Ensuring health and safety environmental compliance and contributing to continuous improvement in operations, plant, and equipment availability.
- Provide high operational availability and an efficient breakdown repair service. Diagnosis running faults and ensuring effective repairs and improvements are conducted within a minimum time scale.
- Carry out replacement, repair, and installation work to the required standards.
- Ensure productivity and availability exceed minimum defined standards, whilst driving best practice and continuous improvement in cost control and operations.
Requirements
- Engineering qualifications NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
- Experience with PC-based PPM systems is desirable.
- Minimum GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Experience with lifting, slinging, and mechanical lifting aids - much of the work is process plant-based with large and heavy components.
