Year 1 Teacher (Jan 2025)
We are recruiting for a Year 1 Teacher for a Primary School in Wigan (WN3) to work on a long-term basis starting Jan 2025- May 2025!

The Year 1 Teacher role is to start Mon 06/01/25 and will be a temporary role on supply until Fri 23/05/24. There are 28 children in the class and there is one full-time TA working on a one to one basis with an SEND child. The school would like someone who has previous KS1 teaching experience and someone who has good behaviour management skills. With this year 1 Teacher role they are looking for someone who is also confident to deliver the Phonics scheme Essential Letters and Sounds.

Your role & responsibilities:
- Teaching the children in class, ensuring they complete their work
- Guiding students through the curriculum, marking working, setting home working tasks
- Managing behaviour
- Upholding school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons
Non-negotiables:
- You must have relevant experience teaching pupils
- Hold QTS
- Knowledge of the national curriculum
- Be passionate and understanding
- Have confidence in managing classes of pupils
- Excellent organisational skills to keep on top of marking and lesson planning
- Good communication skills
