The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with a range of special needs. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored interventions, support classroom activities, and ensure that every child has access to a high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, addressing their individual needs and learning goals.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons and activities.
  • Implement and monitor personalized learning plans and behavioural interventions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of all students.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external agencies to support students' progress and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, with a strong background in supporting students with SEN.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 CACHE, Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
  • Excellent understanding of SEN provisions and strategies, including knowledge of different types of SEN and effective intervention techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting diverse needs.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for making a difference in students' lives.
