Job Description: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team. In this role, you will support the commercial team in managing the financial aspects of industrial flooring projects, ensuring cost control and maximizing profitability. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking to develop their career in quantity surveying within a dynamic and growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and valuations for projects.
  • Support the preparation and submission of tenders and contract documentation.
  • Monitor project costs and progress, identifying potential risks or variations.
  • Assist in negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best value.
  • Measure and value work completed on-site and prepare payment applications.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and cost forecasts for senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and company procedures.
  • Support the resolution of any disputes or claims.
  • Attend site visits and client meetings as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree (or working towards one) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in the construction or industrial flooring industry is an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and quantity surveying software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
