Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor


About the Role:

A well-established construction and development company in the North West is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team in delivering residential projects. The successful candidate will assist in cost management, procurement, and financial reporting while gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of quantity surveying.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for residential projects.

  • Support procurement processes, including obtaining quotes and liaising with subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Monitor cash flow, valuations, and cost variations throughout project lifecycles.

  • Work with the Quantity Surveyor to ensure projects remain within budget and on schedule.

  • Utilize COINS software for cost tracking, reporting, and financial management.

  • Conduct site visits to assess project progress and financial implications.

  • Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and contract administration.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and industry regulations.



Requirements:

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role, ideally in residential construction.

  • Proficiency in COINS software for cost control and reporting.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and liaise with multiple stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

  • A keen interest in career progression within the construction industry.
