Hamilton Woods Associates are currently working on behalf of a not-for-profit organisation, who are recruiting for a Family Support Worker to work across their service for families affected by domestic violence and homelessness.
Responsibilities of the Family Support Worker:
- Supporting children, young people and families living within refuge services
- Organising and creating group play sessions for children of all ages that have experienced domestic abuse
- Undertaking risk assessments
- Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed
- Leading play activities during school holidays and after school
- Creating family-based activities families to facilitate children and parent relationships
- Supporting positive parenting by providing parenting support and programmes
- Providing practical information and assistance to women about local services for children, such as nurseries or school
- Fostering multi-agency working
Essential Criteria of the Family Support Worker:
- UK Driving License and access to own vehicle
- Enhanced DBS
- Experience working within a similar supported living environment
