Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or with children with SEN? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Wigan. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with SEN and be committed to providing both academic and emotional support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist with academic and emotional development.
  • Support teachers in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Implement tailored strategies to support students’ individual needs.
  • Monitor and track student progress, reporting to teachers and SEN coordinators.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning activities.
  • Assist with personal care needs if required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN children.
  • A Valid Enhanced DBS certificate for working with children (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to provide reference details for previous employment.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare are desirable but not essential.
