We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to work for a leading transport and distribution organization based in Wigan (WN4). Monday to Friday 10am-7pm. Salary band £26,000-£32,000. 31 days holidays to start with and other great benefits on offer.
- Responsible for the execution of Day 2 transport planning.
- Planning customer deliveries and collections with various sizes of vehicles from Class 1 to multidrop vans.
- Vehicle planning, creation of manifests, briefing and coordinating drivers.
- Same day/Next Day/Freight cargoes.
- Coordinate and provide support and information in the running of safe and efficient operation.
- Working with clear guidelines to help achieve the operational standards and defined outcomes.
- Able to utilize every opportunity i.e. reload
- Liaising with customer services department regards live issues. Troubleshooting.
- Daily reporting to Management.
Requirements
- Transport planning experience is ESSENTIAL.
- Fluency in transport legislation i.e. drivers hours, WTD and other.
- Good geographical knowledge to optimize planning routes.
- Confident working independently.
- IT Literate, with transport planning systems & Microsoft office packages.
- Able to communicate at all levels, internally and externally.
- Commercially minded i.e. cost savings, increasing revenues, identify and seize.
