Field Service Engineer (Mechanical)

Employment type: Permanent, Full-time

Location: Main depot based in Haydock (Field based role)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: 42,000 - 45,000 per annum + Overtime (Circa 2,000 - 5,000) + Van + Fuel Card + Company Benefits

On Call: On call every 1 in 4 weekends.

The Role/Company

We are currently working with a highly reputable engineering services supplier that specialise in the milling and pelleting industries throughout the UK.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking to add a Field Service Engineer to their team covering a main site in Haydock plus additional sites across the UK.

Ideally you will have mechanical engineering experience with heavy machinery. This role could include repairs and maintenance on Gearboxes, Drive Shafts, Hydraulics, Pumps, Pellet Mills, Conditioners, Conveyors, Hoppers.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver maintenance services to biomass/energy from waste milling plants across the United Kingdom.
  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on equipment while collaborating with the customer to maximise production.
  • Visit customer sites alongside service personnel to conduct essential equipment servicing, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance customer value by identifying capacity limitations and underperforming equipment, and effectively communicate these findings to customers, as well as to our engineering and sales team for further action.
  • Exhibit time management skills and the ability to meet customer-driven deadlines.
  • Work as part of a flexible, dedicated, self-motivated maintenance and servicing team.
  • Working away from home & occasional weekend work may be required.

Experience/Skills required:

  • Expertise in mechanical maintenance is essential
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of mechanical principles
  • Possess practical troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of preventive maintenance
  • Hold relevant experience in a heavy industrial environment
  • Hold an engineering based qualification
  • Welding experience would be preferred
  • Flexibility to travel and spend 2-3 nights away per week.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
