Purchasing Assistant

The commercial team at SF Recruitment is partnering with a growing business in South Wigston to recruit a Purchasing Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong administrative skills and purchasing experience to join a dynamic team. The initial contract is expected to be a minimum of 8 weeks, with the potential for a longer term or permanent role for the right candidate.

About the role:

The Purchasing Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the purchasing function by:

  • Allocating branch stock adjustments to the appropriate team members
  • Processing data updates with a high level of accuracy
  • Managing company stock levels to prevent over-ordering
  • Tracking and following up on purchase orders to meet deadlines
  • Assisting with stock checks to maintain accurate inventory levels

In addition, the successful candidate will also be responsible for managing administrative tasks, including:

  • Overseeing purchase order allocations and approvals
  • Sourcing specialist products and negotiating the best prices
  • Handling enquiries and quotations to ensure timely and efficient operations
