Position: Sports CoachLocation: Wigston - LE18Pay rate: £130 per day.Contract: Full-time, temporary.Age Group: 11-16 yearsStart date: 01/02/2024Role Overview:We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated sports coach to join our team at a secondary SEN school in Wigston. The successful candidate will support students aged 11-16 with autism, ADHD, and minor behavioural difficulties. This role involves working with smaller intervention groups of up to 6 students, promoting physical activity and fostering a positive and inclusive environment.If you are a football, rugby, basketball, cricket, volleyball, or athletics coach, we want to hear from you!Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging sports and physical education sessions tailored to the needs of students with SEN.
  • Support and manage small intervention groups, ensuring each student is included and engaged.
  • Adapt activities to meet the individual needs of students with autism and ADHD.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and teamwork through sports and physical activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Collaborate with other staff to develop and implement individualised support plans.
  • Promote a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  • Organise and supervise extracurricular sports activities and events.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children and young people with SEN, particularly autism and ADHD.
  • Strong understanding of sports coaching techniques and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in sports coaching, physical education, or a related field.
  • Experience in behaviour management and positive reinforcement techniques.

Working Hours:

  • 08:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday.

Salary:

  • £90 per day, equivalent to £17,550 per annum (actual salary)
