JR252: Assistant Site ManagerLocation: Silloth, CumbriaSalary: £38,000 Per AnnumOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Assistant Site Manager on behalf of one of our clients who supply fertiliser products to the UK agricultural market.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities:
- The position requires a dedicated, conscientious and motivated individual with the ability to perform in all site operational elements of the business, working with and supporting the Site Manager in achieving the company site performance expectations.
- Working closely with the Site Manager, you will confidently communicate with, motivate and assist all those on site to achieve optimum production targets, despatch volumes and other measurable KPI’s & SPI’s.
- Manage plant preventative maintenance and repairs and to select and control contractors.
- Ensuring that company health and safety obligations are met.
- Taking ownership for the care of the site and both fixed and mobile plant, ensuring corrective actions are dealt with quickly.
- To understand the company operating systems and engage in maintaining accuracies alongside the Site Manager, such as production and blending, quality, stock management, safety and environmental management systems and more.
Skills and Qualifications:
- To be right for this role, you’ll possess strong leadership and people-management skills and be able to effectively manage a small production team.
- Other essential areas of experience that we would like you to demonstrate include:
- Experience in a volume driven working environment including managing site inputs and outputs, production planning and storage control in a safe and effective manner.
- Experience operating mobile plant including counterbalance forklift trucks, front end loading shovels, telehandlers and MEWP’s (training can be provided).
- Engineering or mechanical aptitude.
- IT literate in Word, Excel and/or other Microsoft operating systems.
- Working to, managing and monitoring company quality control systems.
- Good foundation knowledge in health, safety and compliance.
- Team player and a good communicator at all levels of the business.
- The role requires a person with good organisational and time management skills. A person who balances time between office-based responsibilities and time on site.
- The successful candidate would need to cope well under pressure and have a flexible attitude.
- Due to the seasonal nature of the business, be prepared to work the hours required to fulfil the requirement of the role.
