the following shift pattern once training complete:
Monday - Thursday 6:00 14:00 & Friday 6:00 13:00
Monday - Thursday 14:00 10:30 & Friday 13:00 18:00

Working for a well established and secure manufacturing organisation, MacArthur Recruitment are helping them look for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a level 3, or equivalent qualification. You will provide engineering expertise to effectively maintain all machinery, work equipment and facilities within the site in a manufacturing environment as part of a friendly team with a great manager.

Your background and experience could be from virtually any mechanical environment e.g. domestic, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, etc.. Your attitude and willingness to throw yourself into the role and take the opportunity to make it your own, are important.

Responsibilities for the role of Mechanical Maintenance Engineer :
  • Carry out breakdown repairs on machinery, work equipment and facilities as required
  • Carry out preventative maintenance service tasks on machinery, work equipment, facilities as indicated on the departments maintenance schedule system
  • Carry out installation work as and when required
  • Assist in project work as requested
  • Follow at all times the appropriate safe systems of work/maintenance as provided and displayed within the department
  • Follow all company rules and standards
  • Comply with all reasonable requests as directed by your manager
  • Work a reasonable level of out of normal operational hours overtime to allow the various tasks to be completed
  • Participate as an effective part of a team assisting others as requested by other engineering staff
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the department and within the company as a whole (lean, 6S, 5S, Six Sigma no experience required although any is a bonus)

Background for the role of Mechanical Maintenance Engineer :
  • Mechanical background and knowledge eg domestic, commercial, industrial, manufacturing etc
  • Some sort of mechanical qualification ie NVQ Level 3 or above (or similar C&G, NVQ, ONC, HND, time served, etc.)
  • Able to maintain, fault-find, fix and instal mechanical machinery
  • Positive attitude to work and colleagues
  • Team work
  • Problem solving
