MacArthur Recruitment is working on behalf of a successful production organisation who are looking to hire a Senior IT Support Officer / Supervisor / Team Leader to look after the companys internal IT systems and support. Youll be managing a junior IT person.
The company is successful, well established and is a lovely place to work with friendly and supportive colleagues. You will also have support from Head Office. Dress criteria is smart- formal / casual.
The primary function and priority of the role is to work on projects such as server builds, hardware upgrades, procurement or other IT related project works. Your junior colleague will look after the day to day work such as initial customer support, basic desktop work, etc. We are looking for someone who is comfortable and proficient communicating with people (customers) in all formats, inside and out of the organisation and is able to prioritise workload in a timely fashion.
Skills required for the role of Senior IT Support Technician, some of :
- Microsoft technologies - Active Directory, Exchange
- Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude while delivering exemplary customer service.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ideally a background in some of - 1st, 2nd, 3rd line, Systems Admin or any other IT related skills
Experience of benefit / bonus:
- Microsoft Hybrid (Exchange and Azure Entra).
- Wintel administration and implementation.
- CyberArk Identity, WorkspaceONE for MDM on Android and iOS
- Cisco Meraki Firewall, Cisco WIFI, HPE Proliant Hosts, HPE Alletra SAN, Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching
- Proficiency with VMware vSphere or similar

- Some duties may need to be performed outside regular working hours, compensated by either overtime or time off in lieu.
Responsibilities for the role of Senior IT Support Technician :
- Provide a customer-facing support service to all users of IT technology
- Deliver technical support for IT service requests logged by a user via the IT Service Desk, phone, email, or a colleague
- Ensure a proactive and responsive service to all IT users, demonstrating good communication skills throughout the process
- Log all requests on the IT Service Desk and maintain full documentation (including time taken).
- Provide support for Microsoft operating systems, specifically Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2008R2 to 2022
- Support desktop applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), antivirus software, and provide advice or training as necessary.
- Support client devices, such as PCs, laptops, smartphones, and printers
- Design / build / deploy / support / administer Physical Hosts, Virtual Servers, Network Switches, Access Points, SAN, Firewall, Routers, PABX, UPS
- Ensure all hardware and software assets are maintained and kept up to date on the asset register
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure daily backup routines are checked and media is stored in approved locations
- Collaborate with IT Operations Manager in Head Office to ensure consistencies in systems implemented and support to the business
- Arrange external technical support for issues that cannot be resolved in-house
- Procurement of IT Hardware, Software and Services
- Perform other duties as requested by the reporting manager
- Daily Management of one IT support staff
