Management Accountant

Four Squared Recruitment are delighted to be working with a market leading Manufacturing business in order to recruit for a Management Accountant on a full time, permanent basis.

The main purpose of this role is to provide support for the Finance Manager through taking ownership of the following business processes whilst adhering to regulatory compliance, accounting standards and meeting relevant deadlines.

  • Sales Ledger / Purchase Ledger
  • Management Accounts
  • VAT
  • Fixed Assets
  • Inventory

The above responsibilities will include the below:

  • Review daily bank balances and ensure that month end reconciliations are completed
  • Preparation of the weekly cash flow forecast
  • Oversee the sales ledger to ensure that debt is recovered in a timely manner inline with the company’s credit control procedure. Ensure all new customers are correctly vetted with credit insurance in place and that the credit limits existing customers are regularly reviewed.
  • Supervision of sales ledger & purchase ledger closedown at month end
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT return
  • Preparation of all schedules for management accounts including accruals and prepayment
  • Variance Analysis and explanations
  • Preparation of management accounts for final review with manager
  • Responsible for producing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving errors.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and calculate the monthly depreciation charges
  • Preparation of the cost of sales analysis including review of the sales order process and WIP to ensure that invoicing is up to date, payments on account are correctly treated and all relevant costs transfer to the cost of sales
  • Responsibility for stock verification and valuation
  • Assist in annual budgeting process
  • Reporting on ONS Statistics
  • Preparing daily, weekly and monthly reports for senior management
  • Working with the team to improve automation of internal processes
  • Ability to work using own initiative and within a multi-disciplined team
  • Act with integrity at all times and exercise discretion due to the sensitive nature of the data being processed

Essential knowledge:

  • AAT qualified or CIMA part of fully qualified
  • Experience using SAGE
  • Double entry bookkeeping
  • Advanced IT including Excel
  • Knowledge of VAT regulations
  • Manufacturing experience would be an advantage but not essential
