The Role
The role is for a Design Engineer using Solidworks 3D to design & modify MoD systems. You will play a key part in new product development and design for a high-end portfolio of global clientele.
Design & development of new products using Solidworks.
Designing & developing precision engineered products for the Ministry of Defence and related products.
MAN management of your small team.
Creation and modification of detailed drawings including required specifications, material selection, geometric tolerancing & surface treatment.
Using FEA to influence and understand in better detail the design of components/assemblies and the materials that will be required to machine such components/systems.
RFQ creation for internal use and our clientele.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role will have the following attributes; Preferably you will have at least three years of experience in a similar role and must be able to design components using 3D Solidworks software (candidates with other design software will be equally considered & training can be provided). Ideally you will have experience in a similar industry within a design driven capacity (automotive, robotic systems, truck, coach, military, motorsport component/steering system component design) our clientele pays us to design and manufacture robotic defence systems from cradle to grave.
Knowledge of electronics, programming & control systems would be advantageous.
You will be qualified to HND or degree level in an engineering discipline (mechanical/electrical/design).
