We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hard-working Food Technician to work within a large Design and Technology department. You will be working within an established department alongside experienced DT teachers with a wealth of knowledge to support you in this role.

The ideal candidate will show good initiative and the ability to follow procedures.Main duties include:

  • Keeping up to date with the latest health and safety guidance, legal requirements and good practice.
  • Advising teachers on Health and Safety, practical techniques, safe storage of food produce.
  • Preparing practical activities for staff and students
  • Helping and advising pupils with practical cooking lessons.
  • Researching and trialling equipment and practical's for future projects
  • Maintaining inventories & stock lists
  • Maintaining equipment and materials are safe and in good order, including mandatory checks.
  • Must be open to become a First Aider and undertake the relevant training.
