I am recruiting for a specialist AP setting that support primary and secondary aged students who have been excluded from a mainstream school or are at risk of full-time exclusion. This setting is based in Willenhall and support students from primary age all the way up to secondary age. These students are predominately from Walsall settings, but some do come from other local LA settings. The school is seeing an individual who can help support students' learning but also their wellbeing. The ideal candidate will have a background in mentoring and/or counselling. However, an individual with compassion and welcomes these types of students will also be welcome to apply. You will be supporting students with their learning but also spending time with students outside the classroom alongside other specialist staff, providing reflection time and to be able to support them to engage with fellow students and their work. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to expand on their experience of working in a school and looking to secure a full-time, potentially permanent mentoring/TA role in a school in Willenhall. You must have a UK-child related experience that I am able to reference and either a DBS on the update service or be happy to apply for one.
