We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s leading providers of behavioural care and specialist support services, for a full time Consultant Psychiatrist to cover 17 beds in an Acute service based in Willenhall, West Midlands
The role will be working with male and female patients. You will fulfil the role of Responsible Clinician to patients from admission to discharge with the support of a skilled and motivated MDT.
You will be part of a well-established and cohesive team of medics which includes; Medical Director, Consultant Psychiatrist, Speciality Doctors, Registered Medical Officers and Aston University Medical Students.
The hospital also has strong links with other surrounding hospitals within the region, providing the opportunity to network with other Consultants from different specialisms and service lines. The hospital works closely with NHS partners to ensure that patients safely transition from our Acute Services back into the community, with robust follow up support packages.
This is a full-time permanent position 37.5 hours (including options for more flexible working, ie one day working from home) and offers Competitive salary of £165,000 per annum plus

As Consultant Psychiatrist you will play a pivotal role within the hospitals Multi-Disciplinary Team, which consists of other professionals such as: Psychologist, Assistant Psychologist, Occupational Therapists (OT), OT Assistants and students,
Registered Nurses and Student Nurses/Apprentices, Health Care Assistants, Pharmacist, and Independent Mental Health Advocate.
The clinical team encourage full involvement of the service user, their family and external professionals throughout their stay. They are invited to attend Ward Reviews and CPA meetings to ensure clear communication throughout the care pathway in order to promote individuals' recovery and facilitate discharge.
In order to maximise recovery, interventions offered include a wide range of therapeutic approaches, combining psychiatric and cognitive behavioural perspectives with occupational therapy, psychology, leisure and recreational activity.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties and ideally have experience at Consultant level within the NHS, including the ability to conduct training.
You must hold a CCST/CCT or equivalent in the relevant areas of psychiatryYou will continue to hold a registration with the GMC including being on the special register for Psychiatry.
