Aquilo recruitment are partnering with a market leading printing business based in willerby looking for 2x digital printers of a permanent basis to join their growing teams, the role will have two shift patterns of mornings and afternoons, 24 days hol plus bank and also an option to buy 5 extra days holidays. TITLE:

DIGITAL PRINTER

RESPONSIBLE TO:

SENIOR PRINTERS AND SUPERVISORS

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

OPERATION OF PRESS EQUIPMENT

Main Function:

To carry out all tasks associated with the operation of press equipment to ensure that production output continually meets the levels required within the agreed timescales and that specified quality and security standards are met.

Key Performance Tasks:

  • Ability to operate print presses in the most efficient and cost effective manner, in order to maximise production output and minimise wastage of materials.
  • Ensure all maintenance is carried out to standard and on schedule for your allocated machine.
  • Ensure the print room and your allocated machine are kept clean and tidy by carrying out daily inspections at the start and end of every shift.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately so that a true record of work produced is available at all times.
  • Work with the Supervisors and Managers to improve efficiencies wherever possible, reporting all issues.
  • Work additional hours when required by the Company.
  • Perform other duties that reasonably correspond to the general requirements of the post and are appropriate to its level of responsibility in order to contribute to the overall success of the business.
  • It is the responsibility of all employees to comply with Health and Safety Legislation and Company Policy. This involves maintaining safe working conditions (including equipment), drawing attention to hazards and to taking reasonable care of themselves and others. Employees must ensure that all necessary safety devices and protective equipment are used and co-operate in the operation of the Health & Safety Policy.
  • Ensure that you comply with the Quality and Security policies and procedures (see attached document).

  • Strive to meet the estimated make-ready and run times for each job.
  • Consistent attainment of agreed production targets within given timescales.
  • All printed products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Accurate and legible recording of information for production related documents.
  • Ability to identify operating problems and act quickly so as to minimise down time.
  • Receptive to cross training on other types of equipment as requested.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by moving between departments.
  • Perform housekeeping to agreed standard.

Skills:

  • In depth knowledge of the production process and press operation.
  • Computer skills to enable accurate operation of computerised programs.
  • Ability to understand written works instructions and translate into correct machine settings.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to rapidly changing work priorities and ability to work under pressure.
  • A helpful and co-operative attitude.
